Here in the Balkans now is the plum harvest time to collects plums and bake some #slivovitz. In China, this tree embodies the idea of winter. For the Chinese, the flower of the plant with its five petals symbolizes the five deities of fortune. In Japan it's a symbol of the coming spring. For the Japanese, plum is taken as a sign of virtue and courage, for success in overcoming difficulties. It's also a symbol of marriage and marital happiness. According to a popular legend, one of the greatest sages of the East, Lao Tzu, was born under a plum tree. The rapid falling of flower petals is associated with the ephemeral joy and moral purity of youth. The plum fruit symbolizes femininity and female sexuality in adulthood. Dreaming of a plum is considered a good sign for the dreamer's sex life. The plum tree is a popular symbol of the young maiden because the blossoms of the tree appear before the plant is covered with leaves. The #plum is also an erotic sign, the expression "blanket of plum blossoms" is often used as a symbol of the bed of newlyweds. This plant has been cultivated by man for a long time. Evidence suggests that this happened during the Neolithic through the domestication of wild species. The Hellenes consider it an attribute of powerful goddesses - Hera and Aphrodite. The famous statues of Hera in the cities of Tiryns and Mycenae were made from the wood of the #peartree.

In Rome, it was taken as a sign of #Pomona, the goddess of fruits and fruit trees. In Ancient China, this plant is a symbol of long life, because the pear is a long-lived tree. The word meaning "separation" sounds the same as the name of the pear: "li". Therefore, it is believed that lovers and friends shouldn't divide this fruit into pieces among themselves. There is a duality in the perception of the color of this tree: on the one hand, it symbolizes sadness and impermanence, and on the other, it is a sign of beauty.

The shape of the #pear fruit, which is expanded in its lower part, resembles a female figure and is therefore perceived as an attribute of female sexuality. During the Middle Ages, pears were allegorically associated with Eve - the mother of all people.

MABON

Mabon is a pagan holiday, linked to the timing of the autumnal equinox, though it is sometimes simply listed as occurring on September 21st. #Mabon observes the harvest and its bounty; this time centering on that of the orchards and gardens. At this point in the year, working farmers would be able to assess their harvest, give thanks for what they were able to bring home, and plan for the rest of the year.

This was my grandfather's favorite plant in our garden. He would drink Rosehip tea on daily basis. Rosehip tea has a powerful punch of Vitamin C; a single cup can contain an entire day's supply of Vitamin C needs. Some varieties of berries have as much as 40 times more #VitaminC than oranges and lemons! Rosehips are also rich in other vitamins, nutrients, and compounds that help keep the body strong. The teas are a natural, healthy energy boost that lasts all day and won't cause the draining crash of energy later.

Rosehip Syrup

4 cups crushed, dried Rosehips
4 tbsp Sugar
1 tbsp Honey

Boil 5 cups of water, add Rosehips, and remove from heat. Steep 20 minutes and strain, reserving fluid. Boil the strained pulp again in 2 cups of water. Remove from stove; steep for 10 min. Strain and combine with the first liquid. Boil until reduced to half its volume; add sugar and boil 5 more min. Remove from stove. Add honey as syrup cools. Store in glass containers and refrigerate. Good for 3 months. For colds, sore throats; take a 1-2 tsp daily to prevent colds.

The #Rosehip, is the accessory fruit of the rose plant. It is typically red-orange but ranges from dark purple to black in some species. They're associated with the planet Venus, like the Rose, but instead of Water- their element is Earth. Used for many love & peace spells to create a peaceful, calm atmosphere.

Rose hips are the fruit of the wild rose— the seed pod left after the petals have dried and blown away. For #LoveRitual: add them to the bath, drink them in an Infusion with honey, include them in an #HerbalLoveAmulet, or pierce fresh rose hips with a needle and string them on pink or red silk cord into a necklace.

My grandmother used to talk to our near-centennial walnut tree. All my life walnuts have been present, still, there is so much to learn about them. The #walnuttree provides food and material used for healing and has a long #witchcraft history that made the tree an object of suspicion and fear. Witches hold the tree sacred and use it in folk magic and #herbalremedies following in the footsteps of their ancient counterparts. Walnut was called the tree of evil since witches in Italy are said to have danced under walnut trees during their rituals. Modern Pagans and witches may not carry on this specific tradition, but its use in magic is still prevalent. Specifically, carrying the nut in the shell is believed to promote fertility of mind and body.

The walnut tree is also helpful in making a transition from one state of affairs to another including major changes in life circumstances. It has the ability to break the link of past unwanted associations. Meditation on the energy of the walnut tree helps to bring clarity and strength to make the needed change.

The planetary correspondence for the walnut tree is the sun, which makes its element fire. Wands from the tree have this fiery, masculine energy, believed to have magical associations with fertility and high energy.

Take a teaspoonful or tablespoonful three or four times a day when symptoms appear. Continue its use for some time after the attack and it will effect a permanent cure. It was in the beginning of September, that we collected elderberries for our medicine cabinet. This time we tried a new #BlackElderberrySirup recipe with winter spices. It does wonders in the cold season, as it is packed with vitamins and we really liked adding 2 full teaspoons spiced #ElderberrySyrup in hot water with zest of lime and some lavender.

Easy Elderberry Syrup

1 kg de-stalked Elderberries
1 kg Sugar (we used White & Brown)
2 Lemon Juice

Optional extras (we added Vanilla Stick instead of Anise)
Sliced Ginger
10 Cloves
2 Cinnamon Stick
2 Star Anise

Pick the heads of plump elderberries and use a fork to strip the berries from their stalks. Dispose the light colored berries, as they are not fit for consummation and use only the black ones. Don't try to eat them raw.

Next rinse the berries and tip them into a saucepan. Cover with 1cm water. Add the Extras, if you like. Bring to the boil. Simmer gently for 15-20 min until the berries have softened into a liquid. Leave to cool slightly. Strain the mixture through a fine sieve and measure how much liquid you have.

For every 500ml of liquid, you’ll need 400g of Sugar. Tip the Sugar and Liquid back into the cleaned saucepan with the lemon juice. Bring up to a simmer and gently bubble for about 10 min until the sugar has dissolved. Leave the syrup to cool completely and bottle. Has 3 months could be kept in the fridge or frozen for up to a 1 year. Dilute with hot or cold water to drink, or drizzled over your deserts.

#Elderberry can bridge the divide between the physical and the spiritual realm. It represents Holle- Goddess of Death & Regeneration, who protects the life cycle and who also protects those transitioning into death and the Underworld. Elder twigs were often placed in coffins or buried with loved ones to beseech the protection of the #GoddessHolle and grant them safe passage into the Underworld.

To use Elder for #blessingritual, make an oil using the flowers or scatter the flowers and leaves to the wind while naming the person or thing that you wish to bless. Make a #magicalwand of Elder to summon spirits.

Helichrysum italicum, is an aromatic plant that predominates in the Mediterranean, especially on the sunny rocks. The type species #HelichrysumOrientale go by the names everlasting, immortelle, and #strawflower. The name is derived from the Ancient Greek words Helios- Sun and Chrysos- Gold. Immortelles have a rich cultural history. They are used in health and longevity spells and rituals. The mythology tells us these flowers emerged from the tears of the gods, connecting them to themes of immortality and divine beauty.

In the #SlavicTraditions only a witch or blind person from birth could find and pick it; moreover, the herb had to be picked with teeth. Collect it on New Year’s Eve, best time if you’re going to use it for magic, or on Waxing Moon in early August. In various other cultures immortelle flowers symbolize the undying memory of past love, evoking their romantic and emotional resonance. Immortelle Salve

1 cup of Immortelle Flowers
1 cup of carrier oil (like olive or almond oil)
1/4 cup beeswax

Place the Immortelle flowers in a jar, then cover them with your chosen carrier oil. Let the jar sit in a sunny spot for about a month. This process infuses the oil with the healing properties of the flowers. After a month, strain the oil into a heatproof container. Melt the beeswax over a double boiler and mix it with the infused oil, when melted. Pour the mixture into storage containers and let it cool. This #ImmortelleSalve is excellent for treating minor cuts, burns, and various skin conditions.

Use dried flowers in spell jars, sachets, or amulets for protection, longevity, love, or spiritual communication. Enhance your bath rituals with these flowers, infusing the water with their magical and healing properties. After years of testing different hair soap recipes, created on #SpicaVenusconjunction election for a gentle clean hair ritual, this simple melt and pour #ShampooSoap bar. Hair science requires lots of study, so this is more of a simple travel soap bar, suitable for hair and body cleansing.

Just like shampooing with liquid, get your hair wet, then wet the bar as well. Take the bar and either create a lather in your hands or use it directly on your scalp and hair, then rinse.

It is only mined in Morocco and consists of silica, magnesium and other trace elements. It can come in chunks, but the powder is easier to work with. It has a brown, reddish colour and a pH: 6-9. It is a medium strength clay and has some swelling properties, making it suitable for all skin types.

In Rome, it was taken as a sign of #Pomona, the goddess of fruits and fruit trees. In Ancient China, this plant is a symbol of long life, because the pear is a long-lived tree. The word meaning "separation" sounds the same as the name of the pear: "li". Therefore, it is believed that lovers and friends shouldn't divide this fruit into pieces among themselves. There is a duality in the perception of the color of this tree: on the one hand, it symbolizes sadness and impermanence, and on the other, it is a sign of beauty.

This was my grandfather's favorite plant in our garden. He would drink Rosehip tea on daily basis. Rosehip tea has a powerful punch of Vitamin C; a single cup can contain an entire day's supply of Vitamin C needs. Some varieties of berries have as much as 40 times more #VitaminC than oranges and lemons! Rosehips are also rich in other vitamins, nutrients, and compounds that help keep the body strong. The teas are a natural, healthy energy boost that lasts all day and won't cause the draining crash of energy later.

Rosehip Syrup

4 cups crushed, dried Rosehips
4 tbsp Sugar
1 tbsp Honey

Boil 5 cups of water, add Rosehips, and remove from heat. Steep 20 minutes and strain, reserving fluid. Boil the strained pulp again in 2 cups of water. Remove from stove; steep for 10 min. Strain and combine with the first liquid. Boil until reduced to half its volume; add sugar and boil 5 more min. Remove from stove. Add honey as syrup cools. Store in glass containers and refrigerate. Good for 3 months. For colds, sore throats; take a 1-2 tsp daily to prevent colds.

The #Rosehip, is the accessory fruit of the rose plant. It is typically red-orange but ranges from dark purple to black in some species. They're associated with the planet Venus, like the Rose, but instead of Water- their element is Earth. Used for many love & peace spells to create a peaceful, calm atmosphere.

Rose hips are the fruit of the wild rose— the seed pod left after the petals have dried and blown away. There are objective, subjective and subjective-objective ideas. The thought isn't primary in our consciousness, but the feeling is. Therefore our thoughts are dependable on our feelings and perceptions. The Vedic doctrine describes our Internal World as a Pentagram. The rays of the Pentagram consist: thought, desire, perception, memory, feeling. These five-fold rays function within us. Therefore, we can't remove our thoughts from our heads. We also can't be punished for our thoughts, but for our decisions. Our own decisions punish us, not some outer force. 👁️ How to react to negative? It's important to analyze negative information, in order to understand it. Negative information can be a warning or a fear. Positive thinking is in a way "wishful thinking", that is basically self-deception. Because we take our thought as reality. Negative thinking is also deceitful, because we see only dark instead of harmony and light. In #Virgo time, this can be good momentum for hygiene of thoughts. My grandmother used to talk to our near-centennial walnut tree. All my life walnuts have been present, still, there is so much to learn about them. The #walnuttree provides food and material used for healing and has a long #witchcraft history that made the tree an object of suspicion and fear. Witches hold the tree sacred and use it in folk magic and #herbalremedies following in the footsteps of their ancient counterparts. Walnut was called the tree of evil since witches in Italy are said to have danced under walnut trees during their rituals. Modern Pagans and witches may not carry on this specific tradition, but its use in magic is still prevalent. Specifically, carrying the nut in the shell is believed to promote fertility of mind and body.

The walnut tree is also helpful in making a transition from one state of affairs to another including major changes in life circumstances. It has the ability to break the link of past unwanted associations. Meditation on the energy of the walnut tree helps to bring clarity and strength to make the needed change.

The planetary correspondence for the walnut tree is the sun, which makes its element fire. Wands from the tree have this fiery, masculine energy, believed to have magical associations with fertility and high energy.

The leaves from the tree are gathered in the spring or summer and dried for use in relief of skin conditions. Tea made from the leaves is also used for stomach problems and sore throat. It was in the beginning of September, that we collected elderberries for our medicine cabinet. This time we tried a new #BlackElderberrySirup recipe with winter spices. It does wonders in the cold season, as it is packed with vitamins and we really liked adding 2 full teaspoons spiced #ElderberrySyrup in hot water with zest of lime and some lavender.

Easy Elderberry Syrup

1 kg de-stalked Elderberries
1 kg Sugar (we used White & Brown)
2 Lemon Juice

Optional extras (we added Vanilla Stick instead of Anise)
Sliced Ginger
10 Cloves
2 Cinnamon Stick
2 Star Anise

Pick the heads of plump elderberries and use a fork to strip the berries from their stalks. Dispose the light colored berries, as they are not fit for consummation and use only the black ones. Don't try to eat them raw.

Next rinse the berries and tip them into a saucepan. Cover with 1cm water. Add the Extras, if you like. Bring to the boil. Simmer gently for 15-20 min until the berries have softened into a liquid. Leave to cool slightly. Strain the mixture through a fine sieve and measure how much liquid you have.

For every 500ml of liquid, you’ll need 400g of Sugar. Tip the Sugar and Liquid back into the cleaned saucepan with the lemon juice. Bring up to a simmer and gently bubble for about 10 min until the sugar has dissolved. Leave the syrup to cool completely and bottle. Has 3 months could be kept in the fridge or frozen for up to a 1 year. Dilute with hot or cold water to drink, or drizzled over your deserts.

Helichrysum orientele

Helichrysum italicum, is an aromatic plant that predominates in the Mediterranean, especially on the sunny rocks. The type species #HelichrysumOrientale go by the names everlasting, immortelle, and #strawflower. The name is derived from the Ancient Greek words Helios- Sun and Chrysos- Gold. Immortelles have a rich cultural history. They are used in health and longevity spells and rituals. The mythology tells us these flowers emerged from the tears of the gods, connecting them to themes of immortality and divine beauty.

In the #SlavicTraditions only a witch or blind person from birth could find and pick it; moreover, the herb had to be picked with teeth. Collect it on New Year’s Eve, best time if you’re going to use it for magic, or on Waxing Moon in early August. Immortelle Salve

1 cup of Immortelle Flowers
1 cup of carrier oil (like olive or almond oil)
1/4 cup beeswax

Place the Immortelle flowers in a jar, then cover them with your chosen carrier oil. Let the jar sit in a sunny spot for about a month. This process infuses the oil with the healing properties of the flowers. After a month, strain the oil into a heatproof container. Melt the beeswax over a double boiler and mix it with the infused oil, when melted. Pour the mixture into storage containers and let it cool. This #ImmortelleSalve is excellent for treating minor cuts, burns, and various skin conditions.

Use dried flowers in spell jars, sachets, or amulets for protection, longevity, love, or spiritual communication. Enhance your bath rituals with these flowers, infusing the water with their magical and healing properties.
