ETHER

The four Elements are: Earth, Air, Fire and Water. These four essences are the building blocks of the universe. Everything that exists (or has potential to exist} contains one or more of these energies. The elements hum within ourselves and are also at large in the world. They can be utilized to cause change through magic. The four elements formed from the primal essence, or power-Akasha. The fifth element is the omnipresent spiritual power that permeates the universe. It is the energy out of which the Elements formed. The fingers in essence act as electrical circuits and the use of mudras adjust the flow of energy which balance these elements, accentuating healing. The middle finger = Ether, Aether, Space or Akasha.

Dhyana Mudra = All the Elements

For the Ether incense ritual the suiting mudra is Dhyana. The Dhyana mudra is shared across several eastern meditation disciplines. The Buddha is often pictured doing this gesture. The significance of this mudra is to bring you into deeper, more profound concentration. This gesture can also help bring you tranquility and inner peace.

Method: To do the Dhyana mudra, simply sit with your hands facing upward, right hand resting on top of your left palm. The right hand, representing enlightenment and higher spiritual faculties, rests over the left hand, representing the world of Maya, or illusion.

When using Onça Mudra Incenses for any form of Magick, it is important that the Incense is, if you like, tuned Into the frequency that is being Invoked. To do this they have to be with the influences that you wish them to have, & again the purpose of this is to them in with the energies of the rites enacted, put simply, you consecrate the Incense within a situation where the energies required are invoked first & then placed within your Incense. To charge a Incense, they have to be consecrated within a circle, invoking whatever influences that will be needed in empowering that Incense. MUDRA:

The use of mudras, in the practice of yoga are a powerful tool for self-care and empowerment. With yoga the intention is to draw oneself inward. Mudras allow us to go inward and recharge our energy levels. The term mudra applies to the use of hand gestures during meditation that carry specific goals of channeling your body’s energy flow.

🙏 Mudras – meaning ‘seal’, mark’ or ‘gesture’ in Sanskrit are said to intensify the effects of our yoga or meditation practice and enhance the flow of energy.
🙏 ⁣⁣⁣⁣The specific origins of mudras are unknown although they’ve been around for thousands of years, appearing in varying religions and traditions including Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, Egyptian hieroglyphics, Tantric rituals, Roman art, Asian martial arts, Taoism and Indian classical dance.
⁣⁣⁣⁣🙏 The purpose of these hand gestures varies according to tradition – from focusing subtle energy, transmitting teaching through symbols, acting as a tool for healing illness, even attributing magical powers or psychic abilities to the practitioner.
🙏 In yoga and meditation many use mudras alongside Pranayama (yoga breathing exercises), usually when seated cross-legged in Sukhasana, Virasana or Padmasana. Mudras are also incorporated into the physical practice of yoga asana.
🙏 Performing mudras have been said to stimulate the flow of prana (life force or energy) throughout the body, and to quieten the mind by focusing it on the simple touch of our hands or fingers and to intensify the power of our practice.
🙏 According to Ayurveda – disease is the result of an imbalance in our body caused by a deficiency or an excess one of the five key elements: space, air, fire, water and earth. Each of these is said to play a specific role within the body and are represented by the five fingers.

Sanskrit Mudras in Yoga

In Yoga each finger represents different elemental force. The Thumb is Agni-Fire, the Index finger is Value-Air, the Middle finger is Akasha-Eather, the Ring finger is Plitvi-Earth and the Little finger is Gel-Water. In Hieromancy the fingers correspond also with the Zodiacal Signs and the Planets. The Thumb to Venus, the Index finger to Aries, Taurus, Gemini and Jupiter, the Middle finger to Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces and Saturn, the Ring finger to Cancer, Leo, Virgo and Sun and the Little finger to Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius and Mercury.

The Finger types & their Corresponding Elements

The 3 types of fingerprints are Whirls, Loops, and Ridges. The most common is Loops with 60-65%. Loops correspond to the element of Water and reveal a personality trades of: survivor, healing abilities, flexible, need for peace, can change many life paths. Whirls is the next common fingerprint with 30-35%. Whirls correspond to the element of Fire: need for freedom, gifted, inspired creative, self centered, need for isolation. The least common would be Arches or ridges with 5%. Arches correspond with the element of Earth and are trustworthy, resourceful, finding solutions, earth-bound, can’t let go.

Esoteric Knowledge of the Sources, Forces & Elements

In Thai Chi the “Higher Limit” consists of four elements. One black, one white interacting in waves, representing the “great movement of life”. This is the spiral, where the principles Yin and Yang are activated. When the waves have integrated opposing black in the white and white in the black dots, that represents the active and passive forces, that are the four natural forces. From them the Yin and Yan give birth to the elements. There are 10 Natural Elements in the Universe. Five are visible in the physical realm and five are invisible supreme cosmic hierarchy elements. The visible five elements are Water, Fire, Wood, Metal and Earth, from which rises the diversity of the material world. The Water gives birth to the tree, the Tree gives birth to the fire, the Fire gives birth to the earth, the Earth gives birth to the metal and the Metal gives birth to the water. In addition to arising, they overcome each other, they enter into a mutual struggle. In term of the Water extinguishes the fire, the Fire melts the metal, the Metal destroys the tree, the Tree destroys the earth, the Earth is destroyed by the Water.

Eventually there are four Earth forces: Water, Fire, Air, Earth and four Cosmical forces: Time, Space, Prima Materia, Plasma. These forces are accordingly positioned on the four directions, where the Earth elements take the axes on the east, south, west and north. The Cosmic elements are positioned in between them on the east-south, south-west, west-north and north-east axes. On the top and bottom of these axes we have the location of the Zenith and Nadir axes. Above sits the Sky and below is the Earth. In between we have the Man as the Mediator, who has to harmonize between the Micro and Macrocosm. This explanations of the natural forces are found in any ancient or modern esoteric teachings. The Chinese and Vedas had well implemented the knowledge of using the philosophy of the Cosmos in their healing systems.

The idea that all phenomena of the world around us, including the human and the nature, are the interaction between the “two origins” the Active and the Passive. They knew that there is no such a thing as “disease”, that is disturbance of the harmony. There where the harmony is disturbed between the three-dimensional essence of man: spirit, soul and body, where is disturbance in the inner parts of these three parts, then disease occurs. In the Hinduism these Yin and Yang forces are called Purusha and Prakriti that take more of feminine and masculine aspect. Paracelsus calls these Anima and Animus. The runes have named them Algiz and “Yr, Eur, Irr”, that present “protection” and “death”. This passive and active principle is seen in the foundation of i-ching as the Chiao lines. The whole line Yin Chiao is the active and the dashed Yang Chiao line is the passive or reflective principle. The double lines called in west “diagrams” have two groups of Young Yin and Young Yan and Old Yin and Old Yang. We find this also in the ancient Scandinavian epos Edda seen as the Young Edda and the Old Edda versions.

Use of incense

Incense (Hebrew, qetoreth) is any botanical aromatic substance or mixture of such substances, assembled and burned for the purpose of producing a fragrant or pleasant odor. Typically, people burn incense either to scent a room or to offer an oblation to God or a pagan deity.

The use of incense dates back to ancient times but the origin is uncertain. It may have originated in Sumerian and Babylonian cultures, where the gum, resins of aromatic trees, were imported from the Arabian and Somali coasts to be used in religious ceremonies. Its use was common in the pagan worship rituals of the ancient Greeks, Egyptians, Phoenicians, Assyrians, and Babylonians. In the Roman period there were cases of Christians being martyred for refusing to offer incense to idols.

Ritual granular Incense is a singular amalgam of a number of natural items such as resins, herbs. extracts, essential oils, gums, & roots. They are ground or combined into a singular compound. When used with Ritual, it creates a harmonious environment or a magickal atmosphere in which you can work magick. Witches & other Pagans use Incense in a circle to invoke the magickal attributions of the Ingredients of the Incenses, thus giving a magickal atmosphere.

By using Correct Incenses, you are using them as a set of Magickal correspondences, linking your intentions in with die intentions of the ritual with the magickal current that moves around us. The ritual significance & purpose of Incenses you may not be totally understanding of, it is enough to know that they work & have been used for centuries because they work!

Magical Properties

Indian Dammar, know also as Cat’s Eye is used as an astringent in Ayurvedic medicine and burned as incense in Hindu ceremonies. As incense it is known to lift sadness and melancholy. Its aroma is light and uplifting, it lifts the user up and brings a feeling of safety, clarity, serenity and peace. Dammar, which means “the light” is often burned to combat mourning, depression and melancholy. It is said to help with clairvoyance, contact with angels and deities from the higher spheres, raises the mood, purifies and heals, gives strength and raises the consciousness.

Black Copal is also called Night Copal and is connected to the mysteries of the night. It’s also traditionally burned to the dead. Traditionally, copal has been used, among other things, as a sacrifice to deities, and has even been called “food for the gods”. This makes Copal also today an excellent sacrifice to the deities you work magically with. The Black Copal is soothing and calming and helps us to get in touch with the deeper aspects of our being. It is often burned in Mexico on the day of the dead (Día de los muertos) where it is said to help the dead find their way back home.

Benzoin represents Shakti and “the Sacred Feminine”. The heavy, musky, creamy and sweet scent brings the thoughts of a women’s vagina and the mystery of the symbolic cave. Benzoin is burnt in Hindu temples to the main masculine gods Trimutri-Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. Which may possibly be seen as a gift of the feminine to the masculine. The three consorts of Trimutri are Tridevi, the three goddesses Saraswati, Lakshmi and Parvati / Kali. Benzoin can thus be represented by Tridevi, the primordial energy / female power. According to Crowley’s Liber 777, Benzoin corresponds to Venus and the Kabbalistic sphere Netzach (7).
