KEY INGREDIENTS:
♦ Black Caraway Seed Oil, is the most powerful seed, one can find on Earth. Black seeds have absorbed as much light as much you needed to nourish or to heal! In Arabic cultures it is known as ‘seed of blessing’ and is widely used since ancient Egypt. Black seeds have played very important role in healing that is also mentioned in many religious texts. Black Seeds was so important to the Ancient Egyptians that it was a used to prepare Tutankhamen’s afterlife. Both Cleopatra and Queen Nefertiti, renowned for their allure and beauty, are believed to have relied on the beautifying effects of black cumin seed oil. Scientific sources refers that Thymoquinone, as the main constituent of Nigella sativa seeds, protects cells against oxidative damage induced by a variety of free radical-generating pathologies. Thymoquinone can simulate the activity of acetylcholine, which causes the release of melanin and darkening of the skin through stimulation of cholinergic receptors.
♦ Sweet Almond Oil has 2 in comedogenic rating, suits well for dry, sensitive, acne-prone skin types and is High in oleic acid. Sweet almond is obtained from the trees that produce white flowers. The sweet almond differs from its bitter cousin, and does not contain amygdaline, which, when ingested in certain amounts, can be toxic. It is emollient, softening and moisturizing and helps to reduce inflammation.
♦ Avocado Oil promotes vitality and wealth, has 3 in comedogenic rating, suits well dry, acne-prone skin types and is high in oleic acid. In Mexico where the Aztec culture was established, the Aztecs referred to Avocados as “ahuacatl,” meaning “testicle.” It was so called, because of its phallic shape and the belief that its shape represented its properties as well as the inner forces it would act on when consumed, thus it was used not only as food but also as a “fertility fruit,” as it was believed to be a sexual stimulant. Avocado Carrier Oil is ideal for use in the manufacturing of soaps for its emollience as well as its lathering and cleansing properties.
♦ Mango Butter has 2 in comedogenic rating, suits well to most skin types, it is high in oleic acid, moderate in stearic acid. Mango butter is a natural emollient so it helps to soften and smooth scarring. “King of Fruits” or “Manna,” the Malayalam word for the fruit, was adopted as “Manga” by the Portuguese, who traveled to Kerala in 1498 for the spice trade. “Mango,” the English and Spanish name for the fruit, is most likely derived from this. By restoring and maintaining moisture levels and by boosting cell regeneration, Mango Butter leaves skin looking plump, thereby promoting a rejuvenated, revitalized appearance.
♦ Castor Oil has 1 in comedogenic rating, suits to most skin types, including Oily/Acne-Prone and is high in ricinoleic acid. Castor oil is extracted from the Castor seeds by cold press method. It is one among the most commonly used oil since the pre-historic times as a powerful detoxifying agent. The first usage of this oil was reported in 4000 BC in Egyptian tombs discovered by archaeological explorers. This gives castor oil one of the longest reported usage by humans for more than 6000 years. Egyptians used it in embalming practices, as well as in oil lit lamps. In the Ebers Papyrus, an Ancient Egyptian medical treatise, its use as a laxative was discussed.
♦ Babassu Oil has 1-2 in comedogenic rating, it is high in lauric, myristic and oleic Acid and is suiting for most skin types. The oil melts on contact with the skin and it’s a very effective moisturizer. The babassu palm tree is native to northeastern Brazil, and has provided a livelihood for communities of women in the region. Bread, charcoal, oil and soap are produced from the nut and husk and the surplus is sold on. Brazil’s Babassu Women have fought to establish the Babassu Law, granting landless coconut gatherers rights to collect from palm groves. There is NO deforestation! Let’s hear it for the Babassu Women!
♦ Atlas Cedar Tree is a spell breaker, it brings clarity and focus, creates sacred space, it is strengthening the energy field. Used in aromatherapy applications, Cedar-wood Essential Oil is known for its sweet and woody fragrance, which has been characterized as warm, comforting, and sedative, thus naturally promoting stress relief. Cedar-wood was also known to relax the body and mind, making it ideal for use in religious ceremonies and spiritual practices, such as communal prayer and independent meditation.
♦ Turmeric can temporarily stain the skin or leave a yellow residue, when applied. This is normal. If you’re allergic, direct skin contact can cause irritation, redness, and swelling. In traditional Asian medicine, turmeric is used for its ability to detoxify the body, disinfect wounds and clear fungal infection. In Afghanistan and Pakistan, turmeric is applied to wounds to cleanse and stimulate recovery, keeping harmful bacteria away.

Solar herbs tend to be hot and dry. They tend to be Yang — expansive, and radiant. “Solar herbs help open your view of life around you. They are able to assist you in avoiding the magnetic tug of incarnate reality which seeks to place one’s ego upon the very altar of one’s circle.” (Beyerl, P.)
Using solar herbs in ritual brings expansive clarity to that which you are seeking. It helps us understand aspects of our life, our ego and situations that we need clarity on. These herbs help us put things back into perspective, and help us find the flow that actually suits our own authentic rhythm. They endow us with courage to fearlessly seek our true vision, and the means to manifest it.
The Eulisinian Story:
The Rites of Eleusis, or the Eleusinian Mysteries, were the secret rituals of the mystery school of Eleusis and were observed regularly from c. 1600 BCE – 392 CE. The rituals were based on a symbolic reading of the story of Demeter and Persephone and provided initiates with a vision of the afterlife so powerful that it changed the way they saw the world and their place in it. The Mysteries were enacted twice a year at the equinox times.
The story of Demeter and Persephone offers a vision of eternal life and triumph over death. Persephone was named Kore, who was abducted by the underworld lord Hades. The goddess of harvest Demeter is also know as Ceres. “While she was playing in a glade where Spring was everlasting, gathering violets, Pluto ‘saw her, prized her, took her.’- writes Ovid. The Romans named Hades (Hell) as Pluto. Pluto ruled Hades, the Underworld, and in the myth, he takes Proserpina back down with him, every Autumn and Winter. This symbolizes the notorious peaks and troughs, the turning seasons, bipolar feelings of highs and lows, light and dark, summer and winter.
During the times Porsephina spend in the Underworld, she would eat Pomegrante seeds. They are the symbol of the deal Ceres had with Pluto to let her daughter visit the Earth for six months. Proserpina, lady of transitions, other-worldly realms, and sacrifice was the Queen of Hell. Porsephina shows you altered states of being, can help you to open up to all the stimuli of life, assists you to adapt and change in response to your environment, and even helps you to cultivate psychic perception.
Goddess of the Harvest, Ceres is about cycles, the waxing and waning of the crops. She is seen through the loss of her daughter as a portal of angst. She presents the dark emotions of attachment and agape mother has to go through when her children mature. This feelings are often negative and desperate, connected to the Dark Moon Hekate. Those are the conditions connected to the age crises of a woman and the time she has to spend without her children. Ceres represents the abundant, emerging, cyclical maturation and creative bloom. She embodies the tremendous power, passion and productivity, which are pulled from the negative emotions of grief, loss, betrayal, rage, pain and abandonment.
Pluto symbolizes this which presides over the after life and was considered as a healer. Hades’s brothers were Zeus/Jupiter and Posseidone/Neptune. Pluto rules the river of death with his tree headed dog.He is a secondary ruler of the astrological sign of Scorpio, which is originally ruled by Mars, but it is feminine sign. Scorpio rules rebirth and things “below the surface”, this are the deep emotions buried out of sight.
The former sites of this great pagan ritual and learning were destroyed throughout the 4th and 5th centuries CE. The temple of Demeter and every sacred site in Eleusis was sacked by the Arian Christians with Alaric, King of the Goths, in his invasion of 396 CE. The story of this rites is not new and were once the ancient world gathered to experience viscerally the truths of life, of death, and the promise of rebirth, now there commonly church has been build over.It is quite likely that the Mysteries were influenced by Egyptian religious beliefs which understood death as a transition to another phase of existence, not the end of one’s life. By telling this story, Onca’s aim is to revive this sacred tradition, with symbolism for revival and regeneration, instead of judgment and punishment. The understanding of the cyclical power of Life and to show gratitude towards it, because without the seasons, our Earth would have been a very different place. Thanks to this story of transformation struggle, which blooms into fruitful harvest, we humans have existed. The wisdom here is to never forget how important for us is this balance of light and dark, summer and winter, sweet and sour.
