Lets dance! Join the Horo.
A horoscope is an astrological chart or diagram representing the positions of the Sun, Moon, planets, astrological aspects and sensitive angles at the time of an event, such as the moment of a person’s birth. The word horoscope is derived from the Greek words ōra and scopos meaning “time”.
Hora, also known as horo and oro, is a type of circle dance originating in the Balkans but also found in other countries.
The Greek χορός (khorós) is cognate with Pontic Greek χορόν (khoron), Bulgarian хоро (horo), Macedonian оро (oro), Romanian horă, kolo / коло in Serbo-Croatian, the Turkish form hora and in Hebrew הורה (horah). The Khorumi dance of Georgia also might be connected to the Horon dance in the neighboring Turkish regions.

THE DANCE FOR THE ANCIENT BULGARIANS IS THE CONNECTION WITH SPACE
Bulgarian dance is one of our most revered rituals. Our ethnographers and historians, who have dedicated their lives to unraveling the mysteries associated with our ancient ancestors, are of the opinion that the dance is the Bulgarian way to connect man with the cosmos. The word horo in Sanskrit is written kolo चक kolo, comes from стбг word wheel. The folk people who play in our country are part of the cult of Dionysus, because as a rule they play in a circle to reproduce the shape of the temples of Dionysus, but mostly the solar circle.
Some scholars call the dance Bulgarian yoga or the way people are in harmony with nature and the cosmic. Viewed from the side, our traditional latitude dance is a group of people dancing in a circle to a certain rhythm. In the center is the bagpiper playing the music.
According to many people, the idea of the dance is to recreate the solar system with the Sun and the planets revolving around it. This is also supported by the counterclockwise movement of the players – as the planets move around the Sun and by the episodic change of direction – similar to the episodic retrograde planetary motion from the Earth’s point of view.
All this has been considered to the smallest detail by ancient sages, in order to obtain, by the law of likeness, a powerful vibrational resonance, penetrating everywhere – outside and inside, in all spaces and dimensions of the visible and invisible world. Researchers believe that the dance is mostly a cult of the Sun.
Every detail of the dance is thought out very carefully to create a powerful vibration with which people can connect with the cosmos. There is nothing accidental in Bulgarian folk dances – the shape of the dance, the type of grip, the movements of the arms, legs, body … The special grip in some people – the right palm points up and the left down – is connected with the path of energy fields in nature . Thanks to him, during the dance, the positive energy that is retransmitted is allowed.
The dance in the past had another function. It was a sacred ritual aimed at unity. In the center of the village, in the city, both young and old took part in the dance. All generations and the whole community – in one common rhythm.
Since we know that our great-grandparents courted and liked the dance the most, we can consider dance as one of the main sculptors of future generations – something of the general mood and rhythm was then forever embedded in the foundations of the nation. , in the direction of its development.
The folk people who play in our country are part of the cult of Dionysus, because as a rule they play in a circle to reproduce the shape of the temples of Dionysus, but mostly the shape of the Sun. which means “Wheel – Solar Circle.
